This is called the Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa-Dha-Ni-Sa progression in India. It corresponds to C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C. Also its equivalent to Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Si-Do.
This was the first lick taught to me by my teacher.
