the worst thing I've had happen musically was when I dropped my uncles Telecaster, the worst thing musically that involved someone else was when we thought it a good idea to have a guitar battle at the guitar store and ended up getting kicked out for stabbing eachother with the headstocks, and the worst gig was probly the first I played I was supposed to guitar tech for my friend and he ended up making me play rhythm guitar thank christ I knew a few of the tracks and then everyone was harrasing me to play something and I tried to play Phantom of The Opera and everyone thought I was like making something up because they hadn't heard of Maiden

lol... thats funny
my worst gig was bout 2 weeks ago, monday, a friend told me: "do you wanna sing in a gig with my band" he was a member of my ex band: i said no, i told him i sucked at singin. i dont know how he convinced me. that afternoon i was in a place i had nver been before near the mic with 30-40 kids (12-13 year old kids) and i didnt knew the lyrics of 2 songs.reptilia and i dram about sex all day.. i said to the public: we"re playin sweet child o mine by guns... i messed up at the end in the "where do we go" part, started to early. next: rock u like a hurricane.. i was readin the lyrics as i sang. the drummer is a loser, he stopped all the other songs i tried to make the band play, he stopped playin in the middle of knockin on heavens door, he didnt finished any of the songs he told me to learn, and didnt play smells like teenage spirit. at the half of the gig we had to turn the volume down, because of the neighbors. it was very boring the fact i told the public to clap, i was there for something they clapped, with no spirit. and i had my arm broken, inside of my shirt with vndages, so i couldnt play guitar nor bass.. and the band was just showing off cool riffs and damn fast solos. not even a song,

now those were details. my worst gig ever

I stepped on my lead after a pretty sloppy gig once. I got through the whole set though and the last song... I hadn't put it through my strap.

I want to know how you're going to break the neck... unless you have sasquatch hands... or something.

I broke the a string on the first chord of the first song in our set once. It was alright because it was a small place with just my mates and a few mates of mates... and then only a couple of randomers on a weekday night so the atmosphere was alright for me to shout "stop stop stop. Fuck sake, hang on" and grab my backup guitar.

:D

All in all a fun gig though.

lol sasquatch hands, no, like dropping it, and the neck breaking. lol could u imagine being the only guitarist and having a string break or a neck bust. tht would be bad. especially in the middle of a solo lol.

I saw a video of that happen to Vic Wooten (a bassist, actually) during one of his shows. He was in the middle of this crazy slapping solo, and then all of a sudden his bottom string broke. He was able to finish the song using only three strings.

Worst thing that happened to me was managing to tip over my schools 200Watt bass amp wells playing. I jumped to the left, it fell to the right. So I played the set and no one noticed the amp was sort on on the side and on it's speaker panel.
Same show, my mate was playing broke all the high strings on his only guitar, came to the solo and he just played it on the bass strings :P He had to borrow my Strat for the rest of his set -.-

Probably the worst thing to happen during a show was when my strap broke during a song, and I dropped the body of the bass on the stage. Luckily, the stage has a set of stairs that go to the back area, and I just sat there and played.

The only other thing worse was when I was asked to play because there wasn't another back up bassist, and I didn't know any of the songs. Just had to try and follow what the Pianist was playing.

Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree broke a string on his acoustic during "Trains" on the DVD "Arriving Somewhere". He jokes to the fans that "we'll cut that bit out later", but they decided to leave it in for comedic reasons.

Skold: that must have been horrible, just having to follow another member with no rehearsing or anything. I would have said no.
