hay, all you way backers, why n when did u joined this site?

I joined like in 2005. I remember looking for guitar chords in like 2004 and came upon this site. I didnt know there were any forums until later and then I registered. I only posted like once every week.

How active were the forums way back when?

i dont remember.... most members were temporal.

I'm not that old a member, but old enough... and when I joined it wasn't very active at all - just a few posts now and again. So I made a few topics and posted a lot at first and well, it got more active over time.

I remember when I joined it was pretty active, but it wasn't as active as it was now, it is awesome now ;D

I joined January 2007. The forums really have exploded in popularity in the last few months.

its nice to help ppl wit questions, but most topics eventually go off topic, or start tht way.

Yep. The first topics were about music theory and that helped me a lot especially Afroraven and Mightydave.

Yup. Last time we had a thread about that subject, it eventually became about waffles vs. pancakes (Waffles > Pancakes, BTW).

^ Yeah and I made that thread, pointing out that I noticed the off-topicness here. Then it was like, about the site, then waffles, then pancakes, and somehow war.

I loved these forums when I joined (about a year ago). All the talk about theory and gear helped me almost as much as the tools on this site. In the last few months the forums have become overflowed with nonsense due to certain members posting anything and everything about 20 times a day. Rarely anything of merit... thank god all the tools here still work.

Yeah, I absolutely hate how that happens.

Good to see you back mattmurray, I agree with you about the posting, quite a bit of it is crap.

I joined somewhere at the and of 2006.
I had visited the site a bout a year before that for some chords, but I didin't know about the forum right then(thank god not, cause my English was so poor, you would of kicked me right out. I mean, the guys back then would of kicked me out, lol just joking).

I don't know why.

i'm not a seasoned member by any means but like matt said,when i joined
there weren't any off topic discussions and that was why i joined this
site. if i wanted off topic nonsense i'd goto UG.

I cant even remeber when I joined. But I joined because of the tools and there were some guys who actually knew what they were talking about, not that there arent any now, but like Matt said it seems to be alot of sensless crap on here lately. Its making me pretty bored of this place, mind you every now and then someone actually has a question related to playing guitar.
