k this has been brought up like a million times, but im stuck. first of all, i want a southern rock knida thing, just a tad heavier not too heavy, just a tad. been futsing with chords and i have some chord progessions:

c, g, d, am

chrous is like g, c, d, g simple huh? on g.

variations of g and c keys, just playn with chords, also thought of

g, d, a, e, then g, d, a, c, e.

the first one is called sunshine from hell, i acctually thought of this b4 skold mentioned his sunshine from hell...it was kinda strange. my chrous is somthing like, "your my sunshine from hell, my glitter on a dull day...your my sunshine from hell, a glimse of light on my dark way...your my sunshine from hell...dont ever stop your shining." somthing like tht. need help with tht. its slower.

also somthing like c, g, d, a, bar chords. tht 1 is faster goes

quater quater on c, then i think eighth eighth eighth quater and repets.

any suggestions on way to find lyrics and rythms? ive been trying and failing, i really dont want to sound like nowadays pop, which i think ive failed at, is ther any chord progressions or rythms or lyrics tht come with classic rock? thnx in advance

i personally dont think that the Am goes with that progression try an A major.
in the chorus on the last time instead of the G, resolve on the E

EMB,
on the subject of lyrics, that's a highly personal touch. However you could write about something very close to you that you've had a lot of experience with. I'm talking about golf. Write about the struggle then when your done change a few words around and it will sound like your writing about a chick or job or some other social ill. (after all golf isn't exactly the sport of rockers but the life experiences are what counts. just a thought. ya get my drift? play around with the idea for a while and see what comes out.

when i rhyme i write out the alphabet, then when i need a work i go through it. You'll find it better than some rhyming app on the web becuase you can find words that don't quite match but you can make work.

as for your progression it looks like the key of c if you make your D a minor or sus it.
