Did any of you use this tool recently? Like today?

I just went on and noticed there is now a "Tuning" thing on it where you can select what tuning you're in. Right now there are only Standard and Drop D.

I always play my guitar tuned a half step down. So my suggestion is, Admin, will you put in a tuning option for those of us who play our guitars tuned down a half or whole step?

Maybe even a Drop C?

Huh, nifty. I could see how the option for tuning down a half or whole step would be helpful, but in reality, it's not to hard to visualize. Just play the scale up a half or whole step!

Oh yeah it's not hard to just move it up, but it would be a bit less work (and possibly confusing especially for beginners) if it was like that.
Just my thoughts though.

I think it would be cool to adjust the tuning per string, like if you have a very unusual tuning like you tune to a chord, then you can see where your scales are even in that tuning.

Glad to see you back, mattmurray.

The idea you suggested would be nice, but could either be very hard to implement, or very easy, depending on how the scale program actually works. Either way, this thread is reminding me of Iris (Goo Goo Dolls), I think that has a really funky B tuning. You might even have to rearrange the strings...

I would go further and request a tool that you can change the tunings of every string to whatever you want and the fret board would show the notes and chords accordingly. This way we can experiment with different tunings but can have a guide to show us where the chords and notes are on the fret board. Would be really cool and useful when wanting to jam to different tunings because you wouldn't have to totally relearn note positions on the fret board - because you have a cheat sheet.

I've used it every now and then. I like it but I don't know why I don't use it more often.

I've heard of people going that low, but only one or two bands. The band Nile is supposed to tune pretty low, like drop A or something.

I think it would be easier to get a 7-string guitar, since there's already a low B on it, and then just drop that. Or even an 8 string (but those are expensive! The cheapest one I have seen is the LTD one, around $1000). I think the low string on those is F#
