I don't know about that amp, but for the slide, what finger do you have it on? I usually have mine on my pinky, and I rest my ring finger right up against so I can mute the other strings as I slide up..

Also, make sure you're not pressing down all the way with the slide, but lightly applying pressure.

I suck with a slide. On the amps, I have the hot rod deluxe and I love it. You may need a good overdrive pedal. I use the boss metal zone distortion pedal. Don't be put off by the name, I can get everything from a bluesy overdrive sound to a strong metal distortion, very versatile pedal.

P.S. I will get that sheet music to you tonight.

That amp is sweet! My brother let me keep his for about 6-8 months with his son was a baby. I loved it. It has a nice sweet clean tone and good over drive. They are very loud! and a bit pricey.

Yeah the middle finger is fine, since you can still use your index to mute the extra strings. I use pinky since I can still use my index and middle to fret regular notes.

Here's a lesson I used when I got started sliding.

The volume is very touchy on the hot rod. I play on 1 or 1 1/2 and use the volume on my guitar. 1 1/2 is comfortable with your guitar turned way down, but 2 will make your ears bleed! I think the volume goes to 11 but I have never had it past 2.

also wut about the '62 tube reverb, a used deville all compared with each other and the blues deluxe reissue. also i love the warm tone of the fender yet can kinda play metal, is that b/c of the pickups? could i change to the single coils on my lp? w8 could i do a single coil as the rythm pickup and a double coil or the standard on an lp as my other one? tht would be sick? would tht cause any probs? i may do tht

in my opinion, the 4x10 hot rod deville is the best of the fender hot rod / blues amps.
