This is a song I have been working on for a while with a friend of mine. It is titled "Questions and Holes"

Lying in bed awake, still dreaming
Sprouts still sleeping in the hay
Thoughts that trickle down like water
Down endless faces of stone

Oh oh~

Foolhardy men of science ask questions
But all they seem to leave are holes
Questions never to be answered
And holes left to be explored

(fingerpick breakdown)

So he stands on the shore
Of the vast, dark deep
An overwhelming precipice
Looming and infinite
And he wonders at the beauty
The beauty of the unknown
And he wonders, oh how he wonders
Does the tree so tall or the grass so low,
That sways so slow in a soft summer breeze
Does it laugh and does it learn?
Does it cry and does it grow?
There's only on way he'll ever know.

The waves of shadow crashed against his feet
From the cavernous depths in which they seep
A yawning abyss of innumerable depth
If he climbs down now would he fall to his death
Or would his eyes now see what no one else has seen
And reach the bottom of an endless sea
Of questions and holes

So he went down and down~

(return to chord strumming)

The darkness crept up past his shoulders
And the air began to get so cold
And he wonders if h dares to climb
Past where roots end their thirsty reach

Oh oh~

Small pools of water cast reflections
Of What you'll find at the bottom of holes.

Holes left to be explored? Sounds like a porno.

it would be good if you made it melodic. it just sounds like something a crazy homeless person would say as of now.

Been on the weed for a while, huh? :P Just kidding.

The lyrics make you seem like a philosophical person. The lyrics work nicely with that desire for understanding. Have you recorded it? Would like to hear it when you do.

I really like this line. Thats some deep **** man. And nice use of the word precipice. I've been trying to work that into something for awhile.

hahahahaha. yea definitely get a melody for it with your guitar or something. I always let the melody come first and then the lyrics.
