I just found the sickest Jazz resolution

Hmm, I recently just sittin around and chilling with my guitar and I found something that sounded mad Jazz. What you do is, you go from the 5 in a minor key(make it a dominant 7th) then go to the root, only make it a diminished 7th then resolve to the minor. Anyone ever seen this resolution?
