My amp gets some okay distortion, but its only "Warm" when I'm lucky. Any way that I can get a good pedal to match the sound that Slash had on "Welcome To The Jungle"?

This awsome crate amp with 16 effects, and awsome clean sound, I just can't get that "Crunchy" and "Warm" distortion sound.

the words "awsome" and "crate" dont go together. lol is it a solid state or tubes, whats the model? most amps i find that have tons of effects suck with pedals, try playing round with the gain and stuff. he tunes a half step down and turn ur tone knob half way down.

Dude if you heard it you'd believe me haha. Its solid state [it just has a big 'ol speaker]. And yeah it sucks with pedals. My wah pedal I saved up a hundred bucks for, you can barely even hear cos' the amp is so overbearing. And its a "Crate GLX30".

ye same here, i got a vox ad15vtxl. fantastic amp. with pedals sucks balls, any type, just sucks the pedal away. so you cant really add pedals, just play around with the settings till you find a good one is al i can say, your not gona get a true "warm" sound, tht comes from tubes and the tone just isnt as good.

Eh, Crate tube amps are actually pretty good. But I'm not too fond of their SS/Modeling amps. It's true that modeling amps/amps with built in effects don't like pedals either.

EMB's right, it will be hard to get a warm sound with a lower end modeler like your Crate.

Not really, it has Flange, Wah, Chorus, Delay, and Concert Hall effects among 16 others. It just lacks distortion and the ability to control when you use the wah sound, but I dig it.

those are just effects, its the tone you want the effects should be separate.

Oh, I did what you said to do with the guitar's tone knobs, and the amp's gain, dude it works now and sounds exactly like Slash or Jimmy Page on "Bring It On Home". The tone....not the player lol.
