As you may or may not know, Frank Zappa, a Jack of All trades in entertaiment, producing, composing, performing, his 30+ years of his magnificent career, before tragically passing away of prostate cancer, he was a sometimes misunderstood but exeptional composer, and guitarist, my personal favorite of his on top of it all is:

"Willie the Pimp", from his Hot Rats album featuring an old time friend, Don Van Vliet (aka Captain Beefheart, a less popluar but equally ridiculous and innovative musician), and in a very, very close second:

"Watermelon in Easter Hay" off of the album Joe's Garage, which is a 2-disc statement against the irrationality of the censorship of music.

Not to be conescending, but some of the mebers here seem a bit young, so the topic itself may be esoteric, but if you have an answer, by all means, share it.

I don't care how long ago this was. Zappa is timeless.

Willie the Pimp, Zombie Woof, I'm the Slime, Stinkfoot, Nanook Rubs It: These are all kick-ass solos.

Just for the sake of Zappa I'm very tempted to find a loophole around the censor on this site. Zappa didn't like the censor. But I won't because of the children (I don't know).

Blank Napkins is definitely one of the best, hell the whole Zoot Allures album is pure gold.
