One afternoon in the holidays I was lounging in the pool and I heard a magnificent sound... my father’s friend Rod arguably the best metal drummer in the whole province (Robert Fic)... started playing Gammaray’s Majestic album on our system. Loud, strong, proud and Metal to the core...

I was entranced by the lyrical genius of Kai Hansen - Vocals & Guitar, formally from (Helloween, Iron Savior) mesmerised by the smooth skill of Henjo Richter, Guitar, Keyboards, formally from (Avantasia) driven to elation by the synergy of Dirk Schlächter – Bass, formally from (Angra (Guest)) and started head banging to the excellence of the metronome that is Dan Zimmermann – Drums, formally from (Freedom Call, Iron Savior, Lanzer)

Rob and I listened to Gammaray late into the night getting drunk and singing along to, in my opinion, the best Power/Speed Metal band in existence. With 10 full length albums 3 live albums and 2 best of compilations they are the kings and this is how I pay homage... Everyone with me:

All Hail Gammaray!

Not bad. Not bad at all. Took me a while to get used to that singers sound... but into the storm was kind interesting... Guitarists are very good.

@ Empirism jea i like they're singer a lot but the major thing for me is the band is so clean they are like a symphony all on they're own. I don’t know into the storm is it a song?

When Henjo goes into solo I get goose bumps (Majestic-Hell is thy home 2:59-3:38) I actually think they (Henjo & Kai) both play in that part.

@ soy.el.che hehe ja man a work friend o mine doesn't even like too hard rock and he loves Gammary.

Another one to look out for is Therion they sound like a mix between Nightwish and Gammaray.

I listen much of this style bands. One of worth mentioning are Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, Winterstorm and ofcourse Nightwish. Also Hammerfall kick ass.

Didn't they play with Helloween sometime ago? I don't know much about these guys but they seem cool.

@ Empirism hmmm good... :)

@ Jazz so true the original members are from Halloween ref: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=221 And you are so right it’s all up to opinion who is the best.

The main reason I recon all other competitors pale in comparison is the one and only fact that Gammaray is clean... they are like a symphony working together and not worrying about who gets the most limelight.

Yeah that's definitely the good trait about them. You should browse around, come across some more metal musicians, there are a few who play clean and sound awesome too. It's great to hear them.

You might be interested in:
Tyr
Hammerfall
Wintersun
Symphony X - (My personal favourite)
Amon Amarth
Finntroll
Necrophagist (Death Metal really)
Blind Guardian - (Great harmonies within their vocals!)
Arch Enemy (has a Female screamer)
Iced Earth
Kamelot
Power Quest
Sikth (possibly, you might not like them but check them out)
To-Mera

Dragonforce is the BEST!!!!!!! rofl. j/k. Its odd, most of the people I know call them like video game metal or something but they're basically just a poor excuse for power metal.

I saw Therion live, they're amazing. They played with Wintersun, and Tyr. I missed most of Tyr, I was devastated!!! They're Fcuking amazing!

Ironman, Symphony X are my all time favourite band! I saw them live a fair few times and they sound better than the recordings.

Ozz, thank GOD you were joking!! My mind paused for a moment there... But Dragonforce are a poor excuse for Metal anyway. Even music. They have to cheat and speed things up.
