my favourite solo is dark matter by rusty cooley, well the whole song is a solo. if that doesnt count ill pick cyanide by burning the masses. they dont play the whole thing smooth on the record but it sounds good.

Well, if by the technical term solo, I would have to say my favorite solo performance is Erik Mongrain's Muse. If we are going on the traditional term of solo, I would have to say B.B. King and Gary Moore's version of The Thrill is Gone

That is one bad ass solo (I mean My Last Words). I nearly forgot about it. Id have to choose among Friedman's from Tornado of Souls, Symphony of Destruction and David Gilmour's in Comfortably Numb.

I have to mention Gilmours solo on Hey You that is very simple yet it carries so much emotion.

I just posted this Hendrix intro solo in another topic but it is definetly my fave. He gets all that he can out of each note.

Do you mean Rising Force the song, or a song on the record titled Rising force?

The record Rising Forced was released in 84 the song was released in 88.

Peace Sells (the record by Megadeth) was released in early 86.

The song Rising force from the album Odyssey realised in 1988.
I had always thought that Mustaine took the riff from Yngwie, but it was Yngwie that took it for mustaineXD Probaly...cause the beginning of the my Last words solo is the same as the rising force solo!

Besides that i would say that Symphony x - Sea of lies solo is kickass.
Michael Romeo pwns. But i don't really have a favourit guitar solo, it so many of them:xD

Paul Gilbert played for a Christian band and I can't remember the name but the song is Jesus Will Reign. The intro solo and the solo in the middle are both outstanding.
