After giving Mastodon's most recent album, Crack the Skye, a few listens, I strongly recommend it to everyone. Even if you're not a big metal or prog. rock fan, I think you'll still be able to appreciate what they've done with this record. I don't even know what to say about it other than every part of every song is done to near perfection, sometimes reaching it.

If you haven't already, go buy this album (these guys deserve our support).

It was pretty good but I liked Blood Mountain better. Still pretty sweet though!

I'm having a good time re-listening to the album just for the "concept" aspect, it's telling a really cool story. Cool in my opinion, at least.

Good taste!! One of my favourites to be honest! And I actually bought the album just because they deserved it for the supreme skill.

I just bought tickets to go see them (next Wednesday) with my girlfriend (she wanted to go, weird). I'm pretty freakin' pumped.

It is a really good album. I'm going to see Mastodon with Down, As I Lay Dying and Metallica on July 4th. Should be a good show.

The concert last night was freaking awesome. I showed up two hours early and was a foot away from Bill Kelliher for the whole show. My ears are still ringing a little bit, but it was worth it.

I bought the album a few weeks ago, haven't really listened to it much. Which are the best tracks in your opinion?

I've really enjoyed Oblivion, The Czar (long multi-part track), and The Last Baron. The whole record is great, but those are the ones that stick out in my mind.
