I need your guys' help

im getting sick of playing the pentatonic scale, what are some other scales i could use that kinda stay in that musical spectrum and hase major shred potential?

I'm going to assume you're referring to minor pentatonic and not major, in which case Dorian is always a good alternative. I think Paul Gilbert uses a scale he developed which is a fusion of blues and dorian scales called the 'hip scale', or something like that when he shreds. Or did I just completely make that up - anyone know any more about that?

are you talking about this afro? i think he talks about this scale in one of his instructional DVDS(intense rock- sequences and technique) i could be wrong though

I use that all the time. Except with a few variations like

The Harmonic minor mixed in with some tri tone always sounds good in solos IMO.

I basically use minor pentatonics,
natural minor, harmonic minor,
natural major, blues scale, and the tri tone scale whatever thats called.

Sometimes I mix in th eighth tone Spanish scale which is similar to harmonic minor.
