Hey guys,

I am thinking about getting a schecter guitar, to be precise the Schecter Hellraiser Avenger:

http://www.proguitarshop.com/product.php?ProductID=646

But the problem is, there is only 1 shop in pretty much all of Germany where they sell Schecter Guitars sadly. And this one is about 6 hours away from my place by car. So before I just randomly pop up there, i just wanted to ask you guys if one of you plays a schecter or has ever played the one i want to get? And what you think about them?

Thanks in advance

Well, Schecter is a good brand, I have a Schecter Diamond Series Omen 6, which it has a pretty nice sound. The Hellraiser really does sound good, but i wouldn't travel 6 hours just for a Schecter. I mean have you even played with the Hellraiser yet? If you have and you feel that this is the guitar that will help you get that sound you want, by all means, get it. But if it's just like..."Oh, I saw this guitar and I want it", it's definitely not worth the time.

I own a C-1 Classic. Great guitar in every way. It plays fast, good tone, looks cool, and it was pretty cheap. $1500+ guitars are the only instruments I've played that I felt were actually "better." Even at that price the ones that beat out the Schecter are pretty uncommon.

I know it's a hassle i think musicans friend does a 30 day money back guarantee, so you can try it and if your not happy send it back but i don't know all the details. 6 hours to drive to look at a guitar is too much for me.

Yeah, it is quite a way, but then its quite a lot of money(at least for me, haha) so i wanna be sure i get the right guitar. I played Ibanez up to now, and I am not a Gibson, or Fender Fan, so i just wanna look for something else. But thats the thing, as we dont have many people in Germany playing schecter i just wanted to ask if those guitars have a good quality? And what about the neck? Are schecter necks rather thin ones like Ibanez necks? or rather wide?

from what ive heard theyre very good quality for the price, they use either seymour duncan or Emg pickups, which means they dont use crappy hardware. maple necks, which ive got on my jackson and its very fast, rosewood fingerboard which is really nice and smooth, you can do really smooth slides. only thing i dont know about is the neck shape.

I don't know actual specifications, but the neck on mine feels pretty thin. It's a "neck-thru" too, so that's really nice.

Well this one is the Hellraise Avenger, so its got some "Hellraiser" in it already ^^ got EMG pick ups as well. Man, I've never played on a b.c. rich before, those brands arent that common here in Germany at least amongst the people i know. Jackson is also a good option, so maybe i get one of those ones. But i just want to somehow try to get a jam on a schecter and see how it goes

Schechters are great from my experience. My first guitar was almost a Schechter Omen. Their guitars are great for the price.

I prefer Jackson because the necks are the best especially the ones on the King V and Kelly.

Yeah schecters are decent. I have owned one for almost three years. However, ive kinda started liking the tone of my newest one, which is a laguna le924. It is somewhat pricey, however it has the warmest, and most versatile tone. Ive made it sound like a schecter c1, a fender, and an ibanez. I love it for when I play with my jazz fusion band.

An amazing guitarist who uses laguna's is Greg Howe:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Mlqaw3ego&feature=related

I Own a Schecter, C-1 Hellraiser Diamond series, its the best guitar i have, you can get lots of lots of tones, due to the active Pups, also they have this single coil splitter wich is awesome, even more variety of tones,it has an Original Floyd Rose, and its a one Piece guitar,so the tone sustain and speed of the neck is awesome! You should try to check that one
