Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a nice LIVE Jimmy Page tone coz no matter how hard i try i can't seem to pull it off. I was leaning more towards the "Rock 'n' Roll" kind of tone so yeh...

Heres the link to Rock n Roll,

well i can tell you i have nailed his tone. there are a couple ways to do so, but first u need to tell me your amp and guitar.

the thing now with all this digital stuff and high gain amps is that none of them have as natural distortion as the vintage marshalls, fenders...etc. anyway. this is 2 ways i nail his tone..

i have a jmp marshall 100 watt '77

presence-7
bass-3.5
mid-8
treb-7
volume 1-.5 or .6
volume 2-1.3 or so

and on top of that i use a mxr distortion pedal, vintage and turn the distortion almost all the way up and output at like 2 or 3 o clock.also i have an eq pedal that is a frown face, a volume pedal, and wah. the wah makes a diff acctually, since its not true bypass it effects the tone, i like it.

the other way is just cranking the amp.

i wouldnt changed the tone settings too much.

but the diff is the

volume 1-5 or 6
volume 2-6.5

no distortion pedals at all. just natural disotrtion. his tone is very natural, and its cranked. so to nail it perfectly u need to crank your amp. i can come extremly close with the first and nail it on the second.

tell me your amp, guitar, pedalboard, maybe a vid of you playing it all to see your sound and ill tell u.

I can't wait till Christmas. Gettin [hopefully] that MG100 half Stack. Hopefully it doesn't have any effects because I've become aware that amp effects really screw the tone right out of the thing. Especially on an SS.

kk. it seems like your setup i very digital. most multi fx are and if its a solid state it very well could be digital or digital sounding. anyway with that i really cant help you until you get a tube amp. once you get that then you can come much closer. but with a ss its very bhard to transfer tones from a tube amp to that. you just have to futz around.

Speaking of digital, I'm getting an RP 355 soon! w00t! Has every effect [practically] that you'd need. Even whammys and wahs.
