I get you. Now that I have to practice all the time, I like to listen to anything besides Metal. Right now I am really into Latin Jazz/Blues, Psychedelic Rock, and Classical.

that reminds me when i was younger and my mom thought i was going crazy because i would play completely opposite music back to back. First captain beefeater lick my decals off baby(love that song and that guys music will make people think your crazy by it's self ) to early Beatles to Hardcore punk like minor threat some random rap then to say Love's alone again or and your parents are calling the crazy home.

Ironman, those are some Classics its almost the same as my favorites except for Ozzy and Alice Cooper (at least not in my top ten)

If you like Thrash Metal listen to Sodom, Tankard, Heathen, Sacred Reich, Violator and you won't be dissapointed.

@Telecrater:
Those are such good choices who cares what genre they are!

Those are some of my favorites (except Fish)especially AC/DC and Skynard. And I incorporate Grateful Dead, Skynard, and AC/DC into my Bluesy solos.

Sodom and Tankard are both German and man do they know how to thrash.

RATM is a really talented band and I was a huge fan as a 11 year old kid but now I'm not a fan of Tom Morello with the new stuff he's come out with.

Great choices and welcome back Nightmare.

Ok, here's my top ten Thrash Metal list

1.Megadeth(Obvious reasons)what really sets apart Megadeth is that it's really a different approach to guitar and Metal.

2.Metallica(Obvious reasons)

3.Testament(Musicianship)

4.Slayer(took it to the next level)

5.Exodus(Classic Thrash attitude)

6.Anthrax(well they're not my fav but they deserve credit)

7.Sodom(Evil blackened Thrash)

8.Sacred Reich(important lyrical themes)

9.Tankard(Pure Classic Thrash)

10.Heathen(great solos, good singer)

I probably left out some good ones but I'll remember eventually.

I was debating whether I should have included hair bands but they're more hard rock in my opinion.

I would include RATT, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Queensryche, and Motley Crue.

You're Welcome Nightmare.

I wish more of the classic members would come back like Notim, Taug, MightyDave and such but they could have died, people die every day.

late edit: First of all, BLACK SABBATH is above of all and should not be in the competition :P

Yeah, thanks league. I just forgotten Heathen, woot. I sign three first too :P. Few names that for me comes to mind are

4. Cradle of filth (what can I say?. Many hardcore fans maybe do not like new CoF, but I love it. Old one is pure legend.)
5. Mercyful fate (and lately King Diamond)
6. Obituary (well worth to check it out)
7. Iced Earth (could easily to be number 1 too..)
8. Iron Maiden (could easily to be number 1 too)
9. Judas Priest
10. (cant really decide this, there are so many great metal bands that do deserve this position atleast.)

Yeah, I also miss Doz, Bodom and other guys, even Ive not been here for so long... But we must remember that this is a world of Nicknames, Portraits... well this site is bit more unique than most of the others, but there is still real life out there... anything could happen. Gladly many really cool members joined to replace our loss.

5. In Flames [Great melodics]

Well In Flames i believe they changed their styles along their way to the last album. They started with real melodic death and stuff and they where really good, but "Soundtrack to Your Escape" album they had some changes in their style.I think their last album "A Sense of Purpose" is a BLAST!!! it's so effin awesome and different from any other In Flames album.
I don't like slayer although i own Kerry Kings guitar.
