Hey hey =]
Just a wonder, playing with my Melodic Deathcore band, thinking of getting a dist. pedal since it's not full on gain constantly.
Would something like the Boss DS-2 be alright or am I looking more into something like the ML-2?

Think in the vein of:
Bring me the Hozizon
I Killed the Prom Queen
Parkway Drive

Yeah DS-2 might be good.

Try Metal Core pedal from Boss or even Metal Zone.

To tell you the truth most of good metal tone comes from good pickups and good speakers. After that any saturated distortion is good.

I like the Metal Zone because you can get many different types of distortion.

Pro-Co Rat(org), Ibenez(sp?) Tube Screamer(org), etc
or
if yer looking for a saturated 'lead' sound think pre-amp or "driver".

+(full-on opinion withheld, lol, due to ... well ya'know..lol)

Boss makes a really good 'metalcore' pedal. i own the MT-2 Boss pedal and I love it. the distortion is freakin' sick. But i dont know if it would be good that style. Anyway, I recomend boss all the way.

Yeah agree with the Boss the ML-2 is the 'Boss MetalCore', thinking maybe get the DS-2 and ML-2 for different levels of gain, good idea?

I have a variery of amps, a selection of MG series amps (10,15 at my house. 30,150,100head at other peoples) a marshall 2x12 not sure which and a Vox VT50.
Saving up for a decent combo 1x12 not sure which, but would still like to have a pedal to run through the clean channel.

Pickup wise I'm still running the stock pick-ups on my Squire Strat and Vintage V-100 guitars, but they can give quite a nice tone with a bit of EQ tweaking.

Carl and anyone else, don't hold back, I value all full opinions :)

I play all three with Digitech Metal Master and it sounds more than perfect.
