So I finally got around to recording again. This is a very raw version of Kotaro Oshio's song, "Tension". This song took me one day to learn, and about 3 weeks to get to this point. It still is a bit rough and I feel I lose tempo at once spot. I need to find my metronome. Oh well.

Give it a listen, and feedback would be awesome :)

Nice!
the tempo does slide all over the place BUT other than that, very nice rendition for only three weeks in!

RAWK!

AWESOME :D I love it! Like Carl said, the tempo likes to dance around but I still think this is terrific.

Right on form as usual Jeff, really enjoyed it!
I think we share a similar problem re tempo. I always find when I'm playing a new song that I'm not quite used to, my timing slips on the approach to a 'tricky' bit. I equate it with nervous anticipation, even though I'm the only one who's going to know if I get it wrong!

@ Deefa, why don't you (if you can) record yourself playing? That might help with confidence, as most people i know have a difficult time playing when they're infront of a camera. Also, this will only be seen by you so it should help gradually boost of the skills there.

Ya, I lost my metronome. I have no idea where the hell it went. :(

I don't usually like playing with the song... just because I don't want it to sound exactly like the song. Usually when I'm learning a new song, I won't listen to the real version of the song.

That way I add my own character to it, without any influence.

Good frame of mind Jeff, that's the best way to do it. Keep at it, I love your playing and hope to hear more :D
