Hey all, i recently got accepted to be the rhythm guitarist in a band doing the musical Fame. I listened to the broadway soundtrack, and was amazed at the shred that this guy is allowed to play. Has anyone heard this stuff? Some of it is crazy. Also, has anyone ever played the musical before? I could use some tips.

Hahahaha, yeah, we're getting in 6 1/2 hours of practice time a week with the whole group, so we won't be short of time. I plan on it. I'm just not excited for doing more than ten whole minutes of "hard work".

I'm not sure if i'll survive it. hahaha. Dunno yet. In the actual song fame, i'm playing lead. So i'm planning on keeping all of the lead lines the same, but doing my own fills. We'll see if we have some open space for some freestyling.

No I haven't heard of it before, sounds big though. Congrats and good luck to you Schecter Player! I know I'm not as much of a pro as Alex or you I certainly imagine or anything, but yeah practice like mad! But remember to let yourself have a break whenever your body and mind cry out for it throughout the day. try not to get stressed out, I know what that's like. I've never played for something as big as this, but I still know there's nothing worse then getting in a stress over some big performance.

Again, best of luck. I bet you're going to do fine, you must be good to get choosen for it.

thanks for the well wishes. I'll see if i can sneak a camera into some of our practice sessions, or to the real deal. (and truth be told, i think that there were only two guitarists who auditioned)
