agree and disagree. didn't Run DMC sample all of their rock tracks? TRUE they did merge rap and rock HOWEVER they also didn't write and perform original rock songs.

one of my favorite bands of all time is MFZB! Zebrahead. check out their first single "get back" another of my favorites is "someday"

bonus youtube clips (don't you hate it when people do this? i do, and i do it anyway)

that was back in '98... 10 years later they are still doing it (they're huge in japan, have a small following in the states)

OH also, check out Steriogram. they're from australia. same format as ZH (lead singer and lead guitarist/vocalist trade verses and choruses, 2nd guitarist bassist and drummer). they are REALLY good, did not get a lot of airplay in the states. don't know how well they were receieved overseas...

Check out Chronic Future. They had a few good songs back in '05/'06 but have since disappeared off the scene. I don't know what they are up to nowadays.

Here was one of their singles:

Rapping over certain kinds of guitar music isn't easy. It almost has to be like "Pardon me" by incubus (for example) where the bass and drums carry the song. Although if you listen to the acoustic version Mike does a diff version and it still works. But it is all about groove.
