Right...I just thought up something we could do as a forum, it probably won't work, but, it's worth telling you all about to see if you like it or not.

I thought we could make a song as a Forum, as in, 1 of us make an intro, one of us make a verse, one of us make chorus etc etc...

Then one of us could mix it, add a drum track, bass of vocals whatever you wannd add/do to make it better, if we tried hard enough it could work and it would be alot of fun doing it.

Sooooo...do you think it's a good idea or not, and do you think it's possible?

There was this idea a long time ago for the "battle of the Bands" but nothing ever happened with it.

Check out the catagory

Hmmm, I just thought it we be cool if we all worked together to make one epic song, I dunno a few people might do it this time it would come out pretty cool in the end if we did.

Yeah, Im in and Im sure Alex is in too XD... doh anyway, Its better that there is drumtrack first, it will give tempo and it will give rhythm, rest can be added later.

Thing is that this site do not host files, that makes things bit tricky cuz we need another host, but thats not overhelming problem.

Soundclick could be one where to host it, because you can put it downloadable there. If someone have faster or better host, throw tip in here.

If we seriously start doin it, we should take participation replies in this thread forexample, there we can see how many want to participate, if everyone play around 1:10 forexample, we can see how long song it must be. rest is history isnt it? :)

Awesome thats one person.
I think we should list what you want to do, I just wanna say I ain't good enough to take part, so I will just help the best I can.

I don't have a soundclick account, I might get one though because it might help.

I think it's a good idea to figure out what Genre we shall do, we should vote.(Probably better to wait for more people before we begin that.)

Ummm has anyone got the knowledge/software for mixing because I don't.

Yeah 1:10 is a good guideline for now, guess we just wait for more people now.

We have many who can handle mixing and mastering.

Everyone can take a part if want, because this is for the fun and learning. Theres none any friggin recording company who put demands. It only need courage :) and a way that you can download mp3 record your stuff over it and put mp3 back to host where next can download it.

We do not need any particular genre, we only have a drums in background at first. If some one want to record for rythm guitar only forexample to somepart and want it to contain solo, one can request someone to do it. Im sure those who participate do it. We can use little bridges to depart parts for eachother.

I think this is more for the community, than how good one is, we dont expect people who participate to be any Santana's there... though I dont resist if Carlos want to take a part :D.

Thats a good point I will probably join if I can get something to record with that's okay quality.

One thing is would it be better to download a Drum Track or get someone to record a Drum Track on a proper Kit?

I can make drumtrack, if its okay. Somebody else can make it too I dont resist, but I think lets not download it, because when we have participators we must plan that drumtrack.

Yes olanning it is a good idea, but if you and a few more people make one then I think we should choose the best/most appropriate to what were doing to make it easier for us all to "Jam" to.

Yeah.. easy tempo, easy rythm. I think 120 could be good, its versatile to most of the styles. With planning we can make every part to stand that participator style or needs.

Yes 120BPM is a good tempo to "Jam" to, it's better to keep them simple too.

I think one rule is the last not you play has to be an easy note for the next person to carry on from.(You could probably sort that out with the person after you.)

I think we should list the order people will play in, so you can talk to the person before/after you about the transition between you before recording to make the end result smoother.

I think we should have a climax, for example if you wanted to shred, you could do that in the middle for a good effect, it would be good if a few people did it as a shred off sorta thing cause' that would be cool :D.But that would mean someone who does it would have to have an epic build up to it though.

If a few people wanted a shred off type thing I think they should have a few small sections in the middle of the song rather than one big one, this will make it more intense.

Of course thats just an idea, it's probably better to keep it simple for now.

i think itd be cool if we kinda had some people do the rhythm tracks, each person doing a different genre, but the same kinda feel to the song. then some other people did the solos, like one verse metal, another blues, etc.

That sounds epic, but if we did that we would have to clarify the order it goes so we could make a drum track that adapts to the different Genre at the time, but it would be awesome if we pulled it off.

Do you mean that as in, if 2 people wanted to play blues, you pair up and one does Rhythm and one does Lead?

yea, and if we knew who we were paired up with we could pm eachother for ideas or something. or have a solo duo, one person plays rhythm, one lead, then they switch after so many bars or w.e

sure m8. Im really looking forward that we can make this done. It could be cool! I Just woke up, I try to get it done today and put link to file... but heck do not take me wrong, we have no hurry anywhere so take your time.

Oh and one thing, to make this less messy. lets focus that when someone post his take make sure that you record over last updated file. recording order is not matter, if you know what I mean.

so now its

Nater (blues section)

BBT (ballad)

You can sure add me in.
I'll try to be as helpful as I can but I must warn you, I'm not very skillful. I can come up with some nice riffs, though.
I'd sure pair with one of you guys and I was thinking I could keep rhythm for the other guy or chicken and then we could switch.
However, because there are so many users here, it could turn out to be a VEEERY LONG song. LOL! Also, we all like a huge variety of genres and I don't think we could settle an agreement on what genre it should be. So, I suggest we pair up and group up and stuff like that and each grup and couple could up with something of their own.

As for my skills and preferences:
I can hold the rhythm of pretty much anything, but must of you can, too.
I'd rather do something that leans towards Garage, Alternative, Indie and Classic Rock so anyone who's willing to try out something like that can reply or PM me and then we can talk about it. That's also the genres I can consider soloing in cause most Metal is too fast for me.

Yeah Mici, you can pair for Ozzfan forexample, if Ozz wanna do slides you can give him riffs and chords... or so. Actually Mici I am surprised that we have even this many. I think there is around 2 or three more who could participate. We dont need any skills in this. We consider this an member jam, that is for fun and for learning. Thats why we most of us are here.

Allright, forget that wikiupload its not working... I checked many and only that works good though its have little wait before downloading, but I think we can afford that. When we get this ready, we could email it to JustJeff who kindly offered to host, but lets host final jam.

Yeah, so

Empirism 0:00 - 1:10

Nater 1:10 - 2:15

Damien 2:15 - 3:24

BBT 3:24 - 4:42

Ozzfan 4:42 - 5:35

It was kinda tricky with those fills to get those times exact same with everyone, but there are same beat time without fills for everyone. You can part departing fills to blend with others too.

I tried to keep drumtracks easy, but still interesting with few fills. Hope you guys like it.

Allright, lets get this started, first take file can be found on
