stopping wammy`

i just jammed a 9 volt batt into my guitar and it stopped the wammy from moving ever again... :D is there any long term effects i should be worried about:D

Worried? Well, for one thing, you won't be doing dive-bombs any time soon lol.

well, if you intended on doing it, you'll have better tuning stability.

Yes! You have to worry about the battery corroding,getting that white powdery stuff on it. If it get on your electronics it will destroy them.
Best to cut a block of wood to put in there or just adjust your wammy so it rest right on the guitar body.

yeah a battery might work but it's also full of corrosive materials. batteries will corrode on their own over time, but you are also placing pressure on the battery's casing (tension from the neck is transmitted through the floating bridge, which presses the battery to the body) which will increase the possibility of a burst.

the corrosion will ruin the electronics, and it's not good for the wood or bridge, either.

i also recommend you getting a piece of wood. not only is it inert, but if it's a solid block it will probably help with the resonance of the guitar itself.
