In the guitar chords section of this site some of the finger postion have a R and some are blank. What dose that mean? To see an example just do a C chord.

R is the Root note, so in a C chord R would be a C, in a G chord R would be a G, etc

ahh cool so the root is like in the scales. where E-0 B-1(R) G-0 D-2 A-3(R) E-X. B-1 is a C in the scale as is A-3 i hope that makes since i just bought a guitar Sunday.

i wasn't sure what you meant at first but now i understand it: yes you are correct. the first fret on the B string is a C. the 3rd fret on the A string is also a C

thanks from what i have put together from my 2 days of playing is learn the scales. any other helpful advice is very very welcome. oh an i dont have the money for lesson.
