to be heard over the drums without my amp sounding like a piece of s*, wtf happened to my light distortion, piece of s*.

Preferably under $200. Max $300.
Suggestions?

Ps. It is the amp that's the problem.

if your going for loud you could try this

http://www.guitarcenter.com/ZT-Lunchbox-200W-1x6-5-Guitar-Combo-Amp-105497689-i1475411.gc

i don't know how good it would sound but it would be pretty sweet to have 200W in an amp the size of a lunch box

@EMB
I have an Ibanez RG5EX1L
Tried with an ibanez rip off, and fender rip off too.

Line6 just adds too much distortion to my liking.

As EMB said earlier, Vox are good. They probably make some of the cheaper tube amps. Not very much wattage from what I've seen, but theres a few exceptions where you'll get loud for cheap. Plus, keep in mind, tubes can usually go louder than they are described on a website.

i recommend the Vox vt30, its about 400 CAD, but it is a very nice amp for its price. However it is a solid/tube combo, i believe the preamp is tubed, but it sounds pretty damn good.
