DO u support your fingers on the body of the guitar when you speed pick? Like pinky or that other one??? Or just float your hand in the air?

NOOO haha.

LEt me explain what i learned

The pinky on the body is like a training technique... (i think i talked with my teacher about this even tho i never did it...) So i dont know much about that... But never float your hand in air! Thatll just promote sloppyness... I recommend what i do, rest the ball of your hand (area under the thumb, the fat part) and rest that on the guitar body above the strings, or on the strings, but often i just do whats comfortable for me... never really thought about it too much but thats what i do and i works.

it's looked down in the classical world to have an anchor on the body of the guitar.

That being said... i keep my pinky on the body of the guitar...

its called anchoring like jeff said, if you talk about it on the ultimate-guitar forum you will get spamed by all of the elite jerks on there that seem to know everything. people like michael angelo batio and guthrie govan anchor so dunno

i keep my hand in a fist when i play rhythm so i dont anchor, when i play lead i sometimes open up my hand to use the 3 fingers that arnt holding the pick to tap.

I would consider Dave Mustaine a fast guitarist. Listen to what he say's
at 2:04.

Thanks a million guys, I just started using a pick last week and I dont wanna have a bad technique to be unlearned later on. Gonna alternate between finger picking and Hybrid picking for some extra effect.

resting your pinky or any type of anchoring is considered bad technique. i used to anchor and i didnt have a problem with it but my technique just suddenly changed.
