Make charts and put them in your shower or wherever else you might spend time. Like next to the toilet. Thats what i do.

You could first learn the groups of lines and spaces of bass and treble.

While practising, depart them to two parts, practice only rhyhm and other time practice fingering and correct notes...

I think practising this fit same thing than scales and other stuff, start slow and stuff like dat... gl m8

You can remember egbdf as "Every good boy deserves fudge". If you totally have gotten the staff familiarity down, I recommend becoming more familiar with the fret board. Also, http://www.musictheory.net/ is a pretty good website that will help you understand sight reading better.

Wow, I just realized I'm really rusty on Base clef. People were not kidding when they said reading notation is nothing like riding a bike. Got to practice me some grad staff I guess.

You dont add a line unless you use it. So on the treble cleff the g above the top line f will not have a line. But the a above that will. The line doesn't exist untill you use it. Or use something above it. Then all those lines will come into existance. It's not that complicated.
