I'm looking to replace the neck pickup on my latest guitar.
However I can only find bridge pickups on craigslist.

What does a bridge pickup in neck position sound like? A neck or bridge pickup? Or like total crap?

I prefer neck for the smooth sound and the attack cut.

Pickups are really only labeled that way when they're a matched set. If you have a mix and matched set you really just want the bridge pickup to be hotter than the neck pickup.

Yeah, this is true. I'd try to get one within a few ohms of the bridge pickup or you'll go from bridge to neck an be like WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
