I've foumd some really good deals on the nikon d90 camera. But at those awesome prices they actually don't want to sell it to you unless you buy thier marked up accessaries that you need that you can get elsewhere for much much less.

Does anyone know of a legitamate place to buy a nikon D90 at a good price that won't ** you around? Or mabye a really good camera website that is not too expensive? Please don't just google it and say this place has it for such and such a price. I've gone through all that.

Thank you all. And have a great weekend. John

i get all of my photo gear from B&H phot in new york www.bhphoto.... well i don't remember the whole address. just google B&H.

whatever you do DON'T BUY IT FROM THE SITE YOU ARE LOOKING AT. camera sites are notorious bait & switch houses. if the price is too good to be true, it is. what they do is sell you the camera for cheap and then call you and harass you to get you to buy expensive accessories. if you decline the overpriced accessories they will send you a camera without a battery or some other such nonsense. it's a shame that they rip people off, but at the same time it's a tad funny...

B&H is good, adorama is good. if you are looking for used gear, both B&H and adorama have used sites, but KEH.com is a reputible used gear outlet.

i personally use B&H. i've bought thousands of dollars worth of crap from them in the last 5 years. i had a canon setup that i sold off and reinvested in nikon. i currently have a D90, it's a very nice camera, more than most people will ever need, but i'm thinking about upgrading to a D300s... just beacuse i am a dork.

speaking of D90, i took a sweet picture earlier i am about to uplaod, it was taken with my D90...

thanks for the info. Ive run into that situation exactly. One company has a toll free number that works in their off hours and not in their hours of operation. One company i had to cancel my order. It was out of stock for over a month and i treid comtacting them 2 different ways and they ignored me completely. Those places advertise the camera for half price and then make it impossible to actaully get it.

Id love to see those nikon D90 photos.

Is eBay a reasonable option? I have had good experiences over the years with eBay. My only real rule is that if it is electronics, I always look for NIB. I just am not sure how the prices are on eBay, if it is really much cheaper or not.

ebay is okay if you want to buy used gear from individuals, not so great if you are buying from stores. their prices are typically higher, or they inflate it by adding weak accessories, like cheap filters or optically inferior magnifyiers and call them a "lens".

honestly best bet would be B&H or adorama. if you find any place with a price lower than theirs i would be suspicious.
