Hello I have a brand new guild acoustic/electric. With my first guitar I added a button so I could wear the strap without tying it to the headstock. I plan on donating my guitar at some point down the road and really hope it will appreciate in value.

So my question is will adding a button to the body of my guitar affect the value?? and is it Something I can do myself?

YOu mean like a straplock? A straplock boosts the value a tiny little bit. I'm sure you could do it yourself and make it look pretty but I just get it done at the shop for 5 bucks.

well I don't think I want a "straplock" just the button. But I guess it is all the same as far as affecting the value of the guitar. Thanks!!

Yes, you can easily do it your self, just use a small gimlet and make sure you drill the hole straight.
