just noticed that there wasn't a category for tabs...

wondering if i can get a little bit of advice on figuring out how to play the intro to Weezer's "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" off their legendary blue album.

EVERYWHERE i have ever seen this tabbed by others i see the intro tabbed thusly:

eb--------------------------------------------------------|
Bb------0-----------------0----------0---------------0----|
F#----0-----0------0--------0------0----0------0-------0--|
C#---------------4----4----------------------2----2-------|
Ab--3----------5--------5--------2---------3-------3------|
Eb--------------------------------------------------------|

this doesn't sound right to me. i think it sounds more like this:

eb--------------------------------------------------------|
Bb------0-----------------0--------------------------0----|
F#----0-----0------0--------0--------0---------0-------0--|
C#---------------4----4------------0----0----2----2-------|
Ab--3----------5--------5--------2---------3-------3------|
Eb--------------------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------|_________|--lowered

do you think my interpretation is correct?

secondly, the last time he plays the intro there is an outro... to the intro. there are added notes in there. i can't quite figure it out. can anyone help me out? i have been playing:

eb-...--------------------------------|
Bb-...-----------------------0--------|
F#-...--------0-----------0----0------|
C#-...------0----0------0--------0----|
Ab-...----2---------3-2------------2--|
Eb-...-------------------------------3|
----------------------|_______________|--my outro

basically i just end it strumming a G up and down to the rhythm. it sounds CLOSE, but it doesn't sound perfect.

i don't have the song available or a link to it. if you don't have the song i'm sure you are industrious enough to fine a streaming media website that will play it for you.

i am just starting to get an ear for these things when i listen to music and i am curious as to what you think about my interpretations. how would you play them, etc.

try playing both versions along with the song itself. That should tell you which version is (more) correct.

Don't forget that the tab for that is for a guitar tuned a half-step down. :/

i have (obviously) played along with the song before. i've played both the tabbed version and my own version. personally i think my version sounds better, but out of all of the tabs i've seen for this song (5+) they are all tabbed the same way. that's why i'm asking you what do YOU think sounds correct? what would you add? and how does my made-up outro sound compared to the original song?

yes it is tuned down a half step. it's kind of annoying, but a lot of '90s bands did that. fortnately i have two electric guitars - a regular guitar and a "weezer blue album" guitar.

Play it how you like it.
Does it absolutely have to be perfect?

@gx1327-- idk I'm hearing a top drone of the Bb, but it does sound like something else is happening, I agree. But keep the top drone.

your ending sounds good to me, the top rhythm track is killing me though I'm having a hard time making it out.

keep in my I don't have very good ears, got annoyed by the rhythm track, and I can't say this is my favorite weezer track (lost motivation). But I thought I'd at lest try to help you out.

I'd play it like this:

Intro:

D#|-------------------------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
A#|--------0----------------------------0-----|-------------------------------------0-----|
F#|-----0-------0----------0---------------0--|--------0---------------0---------------0--|
C#|---------------------4-------4-------------|-----4-------4-------2-------2-------------|
G#|----------------5---------------5----------|2------------2--3---------------3----------|
D#|3------------3-----------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
4 minutes in (almost the same riff):

D#|-------------------------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
A#|--------0----------------------------0-----|--------0----------------------------0-----|
F#|-----0-------0----------0---------------0--|-----0-------0----------0---------------0--|
C#|---------------------4-------4-------------|---------------------2-------2-------------|
G#|----------------5---------------5----------|2------------2--3---------------3----------|
D#|3------------3-----------------------------|-------------------------------------------|
Outro (the last part of the 2nd measure of the riff):

...------------------------------|-------|
...------------------0-----------|-------|
...------------0--------0--------|-------|
...------0h>2-----2--------2p>0--|-------|
...-3----------------------------|-------|
...------------------------------|3------|

I don't think this is 100% correct, but it sounds good to me... :P
Nice song btw!

Note: I listened to the album version (don't know how much it differs from the demo).
