Gilmour. Clapton was best in Cream, but Gilmour was great with Pink Floyd and is great on his own. sooooo Gilmour takes the cake.

i think eric has more technical skill but id much rather listen to david. Everything david did BEFORE the final cut was awesome. IMO.

I really don't think one is better than the other. They are different. However, Gilmour manages to always be melodic. He writes simple melodic chordal melodies and knows how to maximize his solos in those melodies and build up to epic moments.
