I don't know if you mean my playing or music I listen to so I'll go with both. One of my axes has a whammy but I mostly use it for detune Bigsby type stuff. In music I listen to I like it only if it's not overused. You hear some players that sound like they have no solo creativity so they hit the whammy every other measure. IMO that sux.

Floyd Rose Double Locking.
Or Strat style (if I have my whammy pedal with me)

I mainly use a hard tail right now, [because my lock nut on my ibanez isn't staying in place (causing detuning)], and it just doesn't feel right without the whammy.

PASS... I don't really see much point to whammy in my style--I hit the point where I was using it, just to use it. It became a paper weight soon enough...

It depends on what guitar it is.

Gibson guitars - No (Hard to keep in tune)

Ibanez and Fender - Yes (When you say "Strat" I automatically picture it with a Floyd Rose)
