6-1 over Sweden?!?! THAT is impressive my friend. I am a big fan of hockey, specifically the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. I know how good Sweden is, because we have so many of their players! hahaha Lidstrom, Franzen, Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Ericsson, and Kronwall.

That is a strong win over a very good country. But then again, Finland is pretty damn strong too. Selanne was an absolute monster for many years. Ruutu, Timonen, Niemi (jerk that is the goaltender who just knocked off my favorite team), Lehtinen and so many more. That's a pretty strong group of players for your country!

Keep on partying!

I'm glad no one round here pays attention to World championships. I hear enough about the playoffs as it is

Shredder: Usually I try to stay lighthearted when I post here. I recently posted 'What are modes again?" after a ridiculously long lesson on modes that was posted a week ago. I'm not really asking what are modes, I'm saying "that was a really long lesson and my head is spinning from terms like 'color tones'!" I know some things don't translate well to print, but I'm like this face to face too, and I unintentionally deadpan punchlines, sometimes confusing people; and making them ask "are you serious?" like you did. I still really do have no idea what color tones are tho'.

Brian: We'll I'm certainly not supporting them, unless they beat the Sharks!

Emp: That was a great goal. I wonder why i've never seen one like that in the NHL? Were they reviewing it for stick height?

Yeah I think so, dun sure tho. It would been an death sin to abandon that goal. I think there are few tries of that kind of goals per season in NHL, I think Lidström made one btw btimm? ^^...

But for me what makes it so great its the youngster that made it in his first national tournament.

Oh man, I remember that goal... gotta say I felt sorry for our neibourghs on that moment. They were cleanly better and then one friggin black moment on goalie... and when we know that press in Sweden is merciless.

btw, on 2011 tournament sweden goalie selected the best player on the tournament. that makes the victory more better.

and btw? is there in the Rules that if buck hits goalies mask, there should be a whistle?

Goals have been made in the past in a similar manner in the NHL. It's not common, because goalies are usualyl ready to defend that shot, but mostly because the defense wouldn't allow you to get to that area so easily. It's not the first thought to try a shot like that when you are generally looking to pass in that spot or take a bad angle shot.

It is definitely legal. The stick height rule is the same height as the top of the goal.

I should post handy emoticons to signify I'm not being serious...

I've seen the flip in goals at local club level, but never in the pros or Olympics.

In the NHL the play stops if the mask is broken or knocked off, but not if its hit.

I'm going to console myself with some guitar now... haha
