This forum is following on from a comment made by blackholesun in 'what scale?'
Many of you long-time users may well have noticed the same questions about theory and other stuff popping up time and time again as new people join the site. This is, of course, no fault of theirs; we all have to learn from somewhere (I learnt most of my theory from other people on this site)and no one wants to trawl through the many hundreds of existing forums we have on this site to find the answer.
So, what blackholesun and I are proposing is to petition for the site's Admin team to make a new page specifically for user-made lessons on commonly asked questions e.g. songwriting, chord progressions, scales, etc. These can then be visited to find the answer, and if the lesson does not exist, a new page can be set up permanently for future reference.
Hopefully, if enough of you wonderful people add your name to this forum,
Admin might be kind enough to get a new page up and running shortly.

By the way, I have looked for other guitar/theory related sites on the net and none of them even come close to matching this one ;)

I'm in.

And as for the other topic, many sites tell you about the scales themselves, but not how to use them which is what I asked. I also had a look first before posting.

Thanks for the replies by the way!

Yeah... what a brilliant idea. Just registered... but this site is so helpful. That is the last ingredient to making it the best.

So you mean like sticky posts? Like where it says, "New Guitarists Look Here" and inside it has basic Q & A's already answered, and some basic music theory. I think this would be great. I would definately be willing to take a couple of good days writing a few pages on basic music theory, complete with tabs, and some of my uploaded images of finger placements and what not. Just message me and I will answer back!

Yeah, good job! That page's gonna get most of us stuck to the computer for the next few days. It looks good for sure, and I think it's gonna do it's job.
