Its been a long while since I've really posted here, so I thought I'd share some new-ish songs.

"I haven't seen your face
In a few odd years
Its been awhile longer
Since your voice has reached my ears
Little did you know
That we've been at war
Ever since your feet
Walked right out my door

You're like a steady birch tree
that I tried so hard to climb
If you were a mighty oak
I could climb it blind
You're branches are too high
And I'm not very tall
The closer to the sky
The further the fall

So I'll comb this foot high grass
Searching for your heart
In this field as far as I can see
I'm not sure where to start
I've been staring at the sun
All of my days
I'll probably lose my eyes
But I don't know any other way to you

I've walked a thousand miles
and I'll walk a thousand more
If you only just change your mind
And quit your keeping score
Or just pretend to love me
And I can do the same
I know you won't feel right babe
But I won't feel any shame"

Dude,great stuff,seriously. I noticed 2-3 mistakes
in the playing before the singing, but that was some.slick
finger picking. Your voice reminds me of stonesour+greenday.

All in all excellent performance. +1

Here's another, it took so dang long to upload for some reason

"So take this shovel from my hand
and this axe from my head
and catch these crimson doves
before they stain the sand
I never knew that I was running
Until I was far away
From that cottage in the mountains
Where you and I were safe

I never meant to be a traitor
Always thought I'd stick around
Now I don't know if I should stay here
Feel like I'm always losing ground
I sold out my saviour
For 30 pieces of silver
Like the captain in a shipwreck
Tie a rope around my neck"

I can hear an alternative/hipster-friendly hit in "A thousand miles",i would love to record/produce that song, but my studio is too far! shame i guess

Nice songs man, nice coordination,a few mistakes here and there but its cool, work on your vocals and dont be shy!

Congrats

Sounds good man. Can you sing any higher? You are eating some of your lyrics. Cool picking patterns.

The first song is almost as high as I can go without falsetto-ing or pushing my voice

Here's another I wrote today, I'm actually super happy I can still write songs. I was worried I wouldn't have anything to write about if I wasn't in love with anyone =p I'll probably upload it sometime, but the fingerpicking part is a basterd.

"You and I are close close friends
I never thought I'd see us come to an end
and I know that we'll keep in touch
But I'll miss your touch

I know that we don't have long
So I'll write us bolth into a song
And we'll never be forgotten
No, we'll never feel alone

I won't mind growing old
Thinking of you, all the things that we told
In that summer long ago
That summer so long ago

I guess it all comes in sequence
Reminiscing of time well spent
And wondering where it all went
Where it went

I don't know what the future will bring
it'll be like a beautiful sunset in a war movie
Or a healing dream
Brought on by the August breeze"
