Having trouble getting fingers in a position that will let all the notes ring. Seems that joints or fleshier parts of finger just mute the strings.

Any tips appreciated.

I've never been able to bar the EADGB strings at the same time.
I would suggest trying it without barring the low E string.
Or see if you can tilt your finger so the bony part is barring more than the fleshy part.

Scratch that. Just tried it and I could actually do it.
It sounds the same to me whether you use the low E or not.
Just keep practicing and you'll get it.
Try moving your finger sideways(?) on the fretboard to get a better pressure on the strings so they don't end up muted

It's arpeggiated the A and D string aren't used but I'm not a fan of throwing my thumb in and I don't see my finger holding notes down in such a way it only mutes the A and D but that might just be me.

That chord is definitely playable - I use similar shapes frequently. But, in order to play it you have to apply a lot of pressure with your barre finger, because as you say, some of the fleshier parts of your finger won't have hardened skin like your fingertip. You also have to roll your finger slightly so that more of the side of the finger is in contact with the string (the side of your finger has less flesh between the bone and the skin than the underside, so it provides a harder surface to press against the string). Use your 1st finger for the barre and your pinky for that top C.

@Afro thanks a lot, I can now play the chord. I was using my pinky for the top C as well as the next shape requires to me play the same barre but with a high B.

@Jeff I should have realised that sooner really.
