Tried jamming to a track I like.

I played the song on YouTube then I recorded me playing over it on my phone.

so you played it on youtube and you played your guitar separately?

does your amp have a mp3 player jack? if so you should get a double sided cable so that you can plug your computer into your amp, it helps the mix sound more together that way and you can control how far in front your guitar sounds in the mix. the cables don't cost a lot, I got mine for 10 bucks at Walmart.
