What is everyones weakness or flaw in their guitar playing?

Mine is that I create a lot of string noise when I'm not suppossed to.

lets write weaknesses and strong points

my strong point is i do bends very easily and i can keep the notes sounding long by doing hammer ons and pull offs

this is actually a pretty cool idea...

i get stuck in ruts quite often where i find myself playing the same licks over and over again.

Good idea to bring in the strong points. My strong point is rhythm and palm muting. One drummer at a guitar store said I should have become a drummer.I have to admit I havent learned about rhythm or time signatures and I never use a metronome.I have a technique that defines my style where I palm mute and fret out chords at the same time.Kind of like Dave Mustaine.I am really clumsy though with solos and melodies but I can play really fast.I used to have the same problem as guitarslinger until I turned the licks into songs and then recorded them so I couldnt use them again.

My strong points are ability to pull of different styles... but like GuitarSlinger I get stuck in a rut way to much.

Humm'z, i guess my biggist weekness is my memory, i tend to learn litte thing's like scails or small part's of song's. I never seem to learn full song's, just cant never remmber them :(

(added note: probbly why i love 12 bar blue's it all esey to remmber ;)
Srong point ( in my pov )

I guess would be being abil to pick thing's apart with what i have actully learnd on the guitar and mod them into something that's my own.

( humm'z have i missed the point here... i wonder?)

Kind of like Dave Mustaine

If you like his anal style too, maybe take a quick glance at Guitar World's new column, "Symphony of Instruction with Dave Mustaine." They always made crappy titles. Anyway, the first article is in January 2008 (Has Jimmy page on the cover) and he describes different palm muting techniques (he is VERRY anal with his sounds) and everything else related to the picking hand.
My weakness would be not playing enough, while my strength is know a lot more "funky" chords then the lead lines that everyone else plays with. I love stretching those fingers out to get a rare sounding chord.

I have that issue. So do you think its good for Mustaine or bad to be so traditional?

haha, play like yourself. If that's you, and you're looking within, why not? Whether it is or isn't "technical." SRV is no Steve Vai, and vice versa.
I forgot to ask, League, what did you mean by "I palm mute and fret out chords at the same time?" Emphasis added.

I guess my weakness is that I dont get to play much any more and my solos are lacking feeling.
My strong points are I impervise very well and enjoy just sitting around and playing just about anything from scales to chords or songs to just jamming with the tv.

My weakness would be that I can't write solos as good as I should be able to (any tips on how I could improve, and yes I know scales help i am learning them), and my left hand isn't as fast as it should be, but it is coming

Strength, i am a really fast speed picker :)

I can pretty much play like the intro of "Reckoning Day." Like on Dave's instruction in guitra World.I can palm mute and fret out chords really fast. For example, I mute the low open E string and fret out a progression in the scale of E minor or E major. I also use inverted power chords to get a different sound. all this is self taught. This technique is great for thrash Metal. It sounds cleaner and faster than speed or death metal.I also use considerably less palm muting than other Metal guitarists.Especially in a bridge.

Again i'm like Doz and Slinger I get in a rut also, but my greatest weakness is that my mind goes faster than my hands sometimes and it pisses me off,To very basic I try to play everyday but if i dont (I,m a carpenter)my hands swell up and slows me down very frustrating.

Yeah that must be hard to deal with.
I feel that if I go without playing for a day then either my hands get nice and rested for the next, or sometimes they are sore and slow

My weakness is that I have issues going from sweeps to normal licks and such. Another is that I don't often make really good licks too often, thus I play the same ones allot...

My strength is that I can play each of those things really nicely. And song writing (musically at least...) is a pretty good one too.

Fast thinking, probably. e.g. When it comes down to that pressure to improvise with a random group in whatever key with a list of chords. I need to quickly think of where I'm going to improvise, how I'm going to compliment these chords, what licks of mine I want to use and the timing (knowing how many bars for each chord).

I was in a Jazz History class and I played guitar one class. I dont know how to sight read music, so I improvised and it sounded good I basically used pentatonics and what I could remember of the whole tone scale and Phrygian modes. I just naturally know how to fit the solo in the rhythm. I sometimes record a solo and then a rhythm over it and it comes out perfect. I guess thats my strong point and always has been.

When performing, solos come out ten times better because of the pressure. Especially in Metal.

My problem is more psychological than technical, but: I tend to be very hard on myself. Success has been ingrained into my thinking since I was very young. All of my brothers and sisters (I'm the youngest) did extremely well in sports, school, and now their actual working lives. This can lead to me getting very frustrated, I usually don't have huge outbursts or anything, but I can feel myself getting super-pissed.

On the other hand, I would say my strength is "feel." Whenever I listen to a recording of myself and then one of my friends, I can tell that they are trying to do more than what their playing is worth. I can't stand the sound of huge half-assed attempts at bends while playing "blues." I hear a sort of squeal when the bend goes out of tune (key, I guess) and shudder a little. I don't know if that's unique, maybe everyone hears that when dissonance is reached through overbending.

Those who are ear trained can notice those notes going out of key. The rest will just think it's great and because they don't realise that they're doing it wrong, their understanding of music has been put on pause, untill someone tells them their errors.

My weaknessess..where I start... :P

Accuracy, Picking (I usually dont use a pick, recently started practising it). One of my biggest weakness is that I try things when performing or recording, where my skils are actually not cabable of... Like soy el said, simpler, better... I really want to practise that.
