Yeah, it's shit isn't it? I'm the primary songwriter in my band, and I've recently got out almost a year long lyrical block.

i write new material almost every week for all of my music projects....and i just wrapped up another project with a buddy of mine down in tennessee...i.e. i've always got to be at the top of my game musically....so ive developed a sure fire way to beat mental blocks...the key word in "Mental Block" is the "mental" part. if you arent thinking about what youre playing then you cant have a mental block! you just gotta let it rip man....dont try and write something...just do it. kinda like Nike...

...except Nike is strange. very strange. and their shoes are ugly...sorry to all who wear them...hehe

put the guitar down and do something else for a few days. drink beer, play some ball, read a non-music related book, go see the family. then pick up the guitar again. it works for me

i just started trying to get the fingering down for the F chord. its hard for me and i just remebered its why i stopped trying to learn a few years back. but hopefully i can get it down. i either can get the first two strings to sound right and that makes me muffle the other two or if i dont muffle the other two the first one buzzes like crazy.

what kind of guitar are ya playing?I don't think I heard a guitar buzz before unless the strings are set to low witch means there could be a warp in the neck?and to adjust it would make the action so high.

Try listening to music you hate.(Hip-Hop) Then when you play Metal it will sound good to the ear. I had the same problem, then I played along to some of my favorite songs. It helps.

I think the key is to put down the guitar. pick up a banjo, a harmonica or a trumpet. but don't play the guitar.
