The pictures of your guitars thread is a good example of a thread that needs pages. Something like 10 posts per page?

I reckon that'd make things loads easier.

I'd prefer pages based on posts. Most forum websites allow you to change your prefs from 10 to 20 to X number of posts per page, to suit your care.

The issue with a file size is that too small a file size and nothing could be posted, too much and it can still hold way to much to load. To even the two out, limit the post themselves.

Doz,you got the right idea. it's rather absurd to have 100 replys on
a single page. this is actually the first forum i've ever been on that
doesn't use some type of paging system.

EMB: I'm guessing it'd be quite hard to make pages based on size of content, it'd be easier with just pages for like 10 or 15 posts.

Thought I'd just point out there appears to be a page system working now (check the your fav guitarist thread, 2pages) and would like to extend my gratitude towards the admin who added the system and to you lot here for pointing out the lack of page system.

Yeah... but 40 posts per page is way to much. Especially one a thread with pictures like the pics of your guitar thread.

I think it should be ten... but anything 20 or under would be a big improvement in my opinion.

the forum might be lacking in features but this is my favorite guitar site and the only one i visit because it is a smaller site and is real friendly to everyone. i log in every time i get on the comp just to check for new post and msgs. i think it would be good to try to remeber to keep it as a friendly forum as it grows. if you go to ultimate guitar and read the post from those admin you can tell that there site started out small but got way out of control and it became hostile with people flaming one another. there is no need for that. So yes as there are more post and replies it would make it better if more features were added but i hope everyone can agree on not letting things get out of hand if the number of members blows up.

just my 2 pennys

I personally think that to emphasise on the small community members with no active posts for two years should be deleted. Would keep things neat if we ever had a members list - which would also be cool.

i like that idea Doz. deleting inactive accounts would prob keep things easier to manage. and by the way who owns/runs this site. and is it the same person/company that manages this forum.

would the owner plz stand up? lol

His user name is 'Admin'. He doesn't really posts much, but I'm sure he checks out our suggestions often. Shame really, we could do with someone around to police the forums - but if you have a life, you have a life :D.

EMB: You can't. To be perfectly honest I think that section should be done away with and maybe build a new guitar tab database from scratch. But we'd need the admin to accept or reject submissions because we wouldn't want badly transcribed songs would we?

But then, same for licks and lessons. I'm pretty sure they just go up no matter what. I reckon there should be a certain quality level it must reach.

ye i agree. u know the books u buy at the stores? the band title and all the songs with tabs in it? i think one of us should have tht and regulate the songs and maybe regulate the lessons or somthin, kinda a lot to ask but it prob make the site better

I used to yahoo guitarchords about four years ago and suddenly this site came up. I noticed there was no spyware or popups, so I started posting. I remember afroraven, taug, mightydave, and that guy that had the hendrix avatar. DOZ, what do you mean? "pages at the top" I agree with 20 posts per page, 10 would be kind of frustrating. Trying to click instead of scrolling.

ye 15 sounds good, what is it now 25 or 30? w/e it is, its too many. also there should be a limit in size in the forum, like 15 posts or a certain amount of size, because even with the post per page, the pictures are huge, along with vids.

Now you can change the number of posts per page by editing your profile. ;)

That's really cool, is it possible to put the page button at the top as well?
