Ok, so I just installed this Kristal program, and everything was going fine. I start recording my drum machine, and it goes fine, and sounds perfect. I then start to record my guitar along to the rhythm, and I soon discover that everything is WAY out of sync. What's the deal? It wouldn't be the sound card, because my computer is only a month old.

My recording process is like this

- Record drum machine (via wave out mix)
- Record rhythm guitar (via PC mic)
- Record vocals (via PC mic)
- Record bass (via PC mic)

Note: I have my headphones on so I can hear what's going on, and so I know that there's no feedback from the speakers.

Latency problems? Have a search in google for latency with kristal. It might be a good idea to have your guitars, vocals and bass recording directly - rather than through your PC mic. You could plug into your amp, and then from the amps output (headphones) into your PC and have a mess around then.

I gotta be honest, I'm a total newb at this kind of stuff. I found this on google, and I wanna know if you think it's a good idea to do what it says.

Yeah, go for it. Post to say wether it worked or not. If it doesn't I'll go into recording directly in to your PC from your amp, if you like.
