I have a friend who wants to lend me a 12 string Hoffner. One of the gears in the tuning assembly is missing and what i'm looking for is a guitar repair guy who has a box of new or used parts, probably an older repair guy. Anyway, as some of you may know Hoffner never put model numbers on their guitars so i am in the process of figuring out what model it is. It looks like it might be model# 490 from the 1980's. It was not an expensive guitar but it looks like it is in good shape and the action is nice and i'm dying to try a 12 string! Meanwhile since Hoffner was popular in the UK i thought some of you guys in the UK or Germany might know someone who has older Hoffner parts laying around. I will post a picture of the missing gear and the tuning assembly soon. i haven't had a bit of luck here in the States so i'm hoping someone out there will be able to help. maybe the next time you are at a place that repairs guitars you could ask????
