Here's a new song I wrote that I call "My Old Man".

------------------------------

"Where d'you go, ol man? Did you see what I did?
My momma said you left me back when I was a kid.
Now I don't blame you daddy for going your way.
But tell me why yer left me, daddy, back in the day

Well now I am grown, and I don't need you.
I'm doing alright myself. How do you do?
Why yer coming back now when you could've then?
Screw the cliche talk, dad, how have you been?

It's alright, dad. Ma and I are fine.
It's ok that I didn't have a dad to call mine.
My brother, sister seen yer round, but you left them too.
Daddy, why'd you have to do the things that you do?

Well now I am grown, and I don't need you.
I'm doing alright myself. How do you do?
Why yer coming back now when you could've then?
Screw the cliche talk, dad, how have you been?"

------------------------------

I wrote it in about 15 minutes, so sorry if it's rough. Also, as I always said on UG, "Still this, and I'll kill you".

That's pretty good!
I can't even write a verse >.<
I literally have a page with a BUNCH of random lyrics I created on it.

Haha, thanks GB.

Well, from what I hear, you're a miniature Steve Vai, so you can take pride in THAT.

I mean, I may be able to write good songs, but I can hardly create a simple solo.

I suppose we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Thank you aha. Never thought I'd be even CLOSE to a mini Vai. He's freakin' awesome man. I haven't soloed in a long time because I was playing a lot of clean and such. Only have been playing clean solos

Solos often sound pretty cool on Resonator guitars.

Those guitars are really weird looking... O.o
They have like this weird design on the body.
I just looked it up on Google Images.

Yeah, the "biscut"! I think they're cool, especially while playing with a slide. I have this album with a bunch of acoustic blues guitar (it has SRV, Keb Mo, and Buddy Guy + a lot more) and they use resonators.

Too bad my music store down here doesn't have any. I didn't see any around there and I have been going there quite frequently for over year (went more and more as I got more serious about guitar)

I still think my Godin Exit 22 is VERY versatile though. I can play metal, punk, blues and lots of stuff with it.

Yeah, I don't see too many stores that carry Folk-Instruments other than GuitarCenter, but I'm not really a fan of them.

Well I'd still like to try it.
It would be funny if a super heavy metal band used them, and actually got a sick metal tone from it.
